Sydney, through LAX, into Vegas

Hi everyone,

Well it's currently 1am on the Monday here and we have been in Vegas now for around 14 hours.

Trip started with standard Sydney-airport related stress. Lack of signs to the long-term parking combined with massive queue's ensured that we only JUST made it onto the flight. In fact, we were lucky in the end as for some reason (which I assume is related to the ditz we had do our bookings at Flight Centre) we ended up seated seperatly on the plane. The checkin lady though was nice enough to fix it up and we ended up in a pair of seats with noone next to us. All in all - don't believe what Qantas or the Sydney Airport website tells you. International flight - turn up at least 3-4 hours early.

The flight itself was pretty uneventful - just over 12 hours. We were worried about missing our connection as the light landed 40 minutes late - but in the end changing terminals at LAX was a breeze and we had 45 minutes to spare.

While LAX airport was dead quiet (odd for ~9am), Las Vegas was the complete opposite. Took around an hour to get on our pre-booked transfer bus, but in the end it all worked out and we were at our hotel around midday.

More Vegas'y posts to come. We spent the evening wandering up-and-down the strip having a look at the various casino's. Had a drink at the Bellagio and watched the water display.

Tomorrow the conference starts and Sarah plans on doing some serious relaxing while I'm stuck in meetings all day. Fun stuff !

Talk soon.
Mark.
